Facing the Road Race

Well what can I say well I have been spending alot of time recently practicing for my theory test hence the title facing the road race.

Not only this but I have already tried to take the test once and failed badly. I have had lots of DVD's and manuals telling me the best way to pass my test or even how to make it easy to pass your theory. Well here is the one I recommend and it is not just to make me some money this is the disk I ordered and used to pass my theory test and my misses is now using it to pass hers and I have no doubt that she will be one step closer to getting her licence only thing now is to keep my fingers crossed she will pass the practical. Well heres hoping.

Be Apart of the Worlds Greatest Bank Job

This title is what I heard while watching the News this Morning "Be Apart of the Worlds Greatest Bank Job"
What does it mean Well its all part of The Robin Hood Tax that has the backing of Celebs, Charities and Unions and is gaining favour with Politician's all over the world. This is a campaign to tax the banks to raise as much as $400 billion by taxing the banks on transactions.

The big idea

What is it?

We are calling for governments around the world to implement a tax on financial transactions – called the Robin Hood Tax.
Implemented globally, it would tax the trade of certain financial assets. Things like stocks, bonds and foreign exchange, traded both physically and as derivatives (options, forwards, futures and swaps), and bought and sold on Exchanges and Over the Counter (OTC). While OTC trades are technically more difficult to capture, the long-term goal is for all financial transactions to be taxed.

How much would it raise?

Up to $400 billion globally every year. The rate of tax would vary from 0.5% on stocks to 0.005% on currency transactions.
